Air-Hart Aviation strives to train safer and more skilled pilots, and our professional yet more casual atmosphere gives you the extra attention and top quality instruction you need. We are one of the only float training centres that allows solo hours.

Air-Hart Aviation takes flight training above and beyond the basics. We have developed a program for students that will give you a competitive edge in the marketplace when looking for that hard-to-get first job. Training that is unmatched by any flight school in Canada!

We call it "Canadian Style Flight Training".

We have graduates who fly floatplanes commercially all over the world and operators who annually request Pilots trained by Air-Hart Aviation.

Many floatplanes schools do not offer true solo hours as part of their 50 hour program. But learning to fly solo with confidence is an important element of the learning process. There is a reason why Transport Canada requires solo hours as part of PPL and CPL licenses. The confidence gained by flying many solo hours will prepare you for the real word far more than having the safety net of an instructor along for the ride.  PIC is not the same as solo. Read comment from an Aviation Employer.

Training Facilities

Air-Hart Aviation offers a quiet and comfortable learning environment. Our training facilities focus on up-to-date computer information, exam study programs, and computer-based simulators for instrument instruction.

However, the best facility we can offer you is the surrounding topography. Air-Hart uses the diverse Okanagan geography to its fullest by training our students to be competent instrument pilots, mountain pilots, navigators, and excellent floatplane/seaplane pilots (with over 100 small lakes to practice on in the surrounding area)--an excellent all-around training facility.

Floatplane Training Video

Only a few months after finishing my CPL I got an interview for a float/wheel pilot position. The employer was very impressed with my training and mentioned that even though I had less total time than other pilots applying, my high float time caught his eye (over 100 hours) . He also called Air-Hart for a reference and to find out if my PIC time was true solo time as that was important to know I could fly safely and confidently myself as I was starting flying right away not working a dock.
